PT 109
Fall/Winter 2010/2011 project
Hopefully these pages will document a successful
build of a 38 inch (1/25th scale) PT Boat from a Fibo Craft Models kit I purchased in 1974.
In doing research I have found that Fibo Craft, which was located in Bay Shore, NY, no
longer exists. There are other manufacturers of wood and fiberglass hulled
PT Boats, as well as aftermarket parts, on the current market. Due to the
age of my kit the current aftermarket parts will probably offer higher realism
and quality. As I incorporate new parts in the build I will note the
source.
I will not be telling the story of JFK or the 109
as those details have been well documented by many other sources. My
only purpose for this project is to enjoy building a model.
